Now I realize it's been over a decade since I posted something on here. So if I'm breaking that long of a silence I must have something pretty important to say, right? Some major revelation to impart?

I um do not.

I thought it would be kind of a novelty to post on my old dreamwidth/livejournal accounts and now here I am trying to work out what I want to actually talk about.

I guess that one thing I could talk about is myself. It turns out I'm trans (she/they pronouns). In retrospect a lot of my infatuation with tatu, sarah waters books and any other tiny glimpses of wlw that I could find make a lot more sense now.

Other than that I'm pretty much the same. I don't watch as much american tv nowadays and I think I've developed a more critical lens to look at media oh and also I'm really deeply into foxies nowadays. I still like making lists.

I'm maybe a little more out of practice with writing, and I'm definitely not as good as I used to be at going off on some random tangent about next to nothing at all. I'm not sure whether or not that's a bad thing. Maybe some of my older posts on here could have used a little more focus, but then again isn't that the whole charm of them? I'm trying very hard not to find my thoughts from a decade or so ago to be cringe (a new concept invented in 2015 by Big Embarassment to try to sell you those memory wiper thingies from Men In Black).

Anyway that's it. I hope this was a fun and exciting post to read. I haven't written anything of any substance about myself for such a long time.

The Principalities
The Principalities is a bizarre world which I have concocted and am currently in the process of severely retconning. In The Principalities Archive is where the main storyline will be going on once I get around to dealing with it. In the Principalities Mirror is where I will archive my MSPFAs which take place in The Principalities.

I know I normally only dig this thing out so I can bitch and moan about Doctor Who episodes that I hate, and that this probably looks like I'm about to launch into a massive spiel about how awful it was and blah blah blah. Actually the episode wasn't terrible. It wasn't fantastic either but it was okay.

Hey look I guess it is review season again. I don't think I'm going to review everything in the world this time, but Dexter is a special exception because seriously <3 Dexter.

Reviewtimes are here again! )

You know what I wonder, I wonder why a Lazy Susan is called a Lazy Susan. If you are not familiar with the gently spinning surface upon which foodstuffs can be placed and spun around very slowly then this entry won't make a whole heap of sense for you, except hey I guess I just neatly summarised the concept of a Lazy Susan for you so you can sit back relax and enjoy the rest of this well thought through analysis of the name Lazy Susan.

For the moment lets just ignore that the inanimate object is called Susan, that is perhaps an issue for another time, for today I think we can focus on the notion that it is lazy. This is unfair and tantamount to bullying. In terms of surfaces on which you can place food it is quite energetic. Seriously. Think about it, in this incredibly narrow category the only competition it has is from tables. While the gentle turn of a Lazy Susan could not profess to be very lively when compared to an Ariel Atom (by the way I watch Top Gear now so expect random references to cars now and again) when compared to an inanimate object it cannot help but come off as somewhat vigorous. And anyway who would want to put their food on a Brisk Susan? One that spins around so fast that anything placed upon it is flung off into the face of the person who wishes to eat it, probably precipitating some king of Brisk Susan aided food fight.

I am almost at the end of PopCo and I feel that my experience with this book could neatly be summed up in one sentence, as could the events that have occured so far in the book. By the way that sentence that you just read, that was the sentence I was talking about. Put in a less confusing manner: nothing seems to have really happened so far in this book. A coded message here, the main character catches a cold and as a child has to try and fit in in high school but very little of any note. I'm not sure whether there is just not much happening or whether I'm missing the point? Although come to think of it, it's the former.

I will definately make the effort to finish it off though, because I am like fifty pages from the 'thrilling conclusion' whatever that turns out to be and I guess I am stubborn like that. Then I can read the Jasper Fforde books that turned up today. Amazon really can be ridiculously fast when it wants to be can't it?

You know I'm just waiting until a show calls one of it's episodes Review and then I'll be like:

A Show 4x13 - Review - Review.

Or even until a show called Review starts up and then I'll be all like:

Review 6x12 - Review - Review.

Or when we start using the word review instead of numbers and then well you can pretty much tell which dead end alley I am headed down with this incredibly pointless line of thought. In other news I have come here to review the latest episode of Castle.

Guess what I've decided to do even if it kills me? Well actually from your perspective guessing really isn't necessary because the answer is update my damn dreamwidth/livejournal thing. And if you can see this then I guess I've already done it, even if it did kill me, and so there's little point in guessing what might happen when that thing has already happened. Also if it turns out that this is simply too much for me to handle then you'll never see it and never be invited to speculate on what I am going to have already done. Okay now that incredibly confusing treatise on the nature of guessing and the past is complete I suppose I will just have to come up with some clever things to say about the world and then I can sod off to bed.

So things that have happened in the world. If I was more politically minded I would have heaps of material to blather on about with regards to the situation wherein all the countries in Africa seem to be rebelling all at once. As I am a more self-involved individual I will instead regale you with stories about my own personal rebellion against the man. Specifically my own miniature thought rebellions against the BBC news. I have this thing wherein while watching the news and being told that people are terrorists or such a person is guilty of a crime of some description I instinctively think that the news is trying to bias brainwash us into believing these things and call in to question their basis in fact. I am such a rebel yes anyway. I don't know why I do this but it seems the more I am told a thing the more I come to suspect the opposite is true. I guess I suppose the news will probably take advantage of this fact now that I have put it out there and start telling us what has really happened so that those of us who are paranoid, I mean have enquiring minds, will believe the opposite; i.e. what they wanted us to think all along. By that point in time it will no longer be safe to believe anything is true any more and I will take refuge inside a cardboard box while cardboard angels rain chocolate apocalypse down upon us.

I guess that despite my whole 'i am so self involved' thing that was actually pretty political, right up until the whole chocolate apocalypse thing. I don't even know how that would work. Perhaps like how easter is celebrated with chocolate eggs (for some reason i don't understand but equally don't complain about) the chocolate apocalypse will probably be celebrated with little chocolate nukes. Or something. I don't know. I am tired and I think I might be coming down with a cold.

While I am well aware I may be speaking too soon I believe that after having managed to drag four survivors across a zombie infested courtyard, one of whom cannot walk, while convicts in a jeep shoot at me, and having all the survivors come out of the ordeal relatively unscathed I feel I may have already completed the hardest part of the Saint achievement in Dead Rising (the original). Fucking convicts.

The fact that I am not very good at sticking to one thing for very long is hardly a piece of information which was elucidated solely from the artvent fiasco. It is more a thing that I have known for a very long time and become frequently frustrated with myself about. Actually I am rather pleased that Artvent lasted as long as it did seeing as it was a spur of the moment idea, and one that required a lot of work for quite a minimal payoff (i.e. no payoff at all).

So now it's the year 2011 (twenty-eleven or two thousand and eleven: who cares?) and I just thought I best stick my head in and say a couple of things about stuff and then sod off and it'll probably be july before I do another entry in here. Actually I know I say who cares on the subject of the pronounciation of the dates but imagine if in 1999 and years previous we'd been saying one thousand nine hundred and ninety nine. That would certainly make 'Party Like It's 1999' less catchy.

So the other day I recieved my calendar for the new year and I had a quick leaf through as I am wont to do. I ordered a Buffy one because I was presented with several potentially good calendars and decided to go with one I knew would be really good, rather than risk a potential fiasco like the Watchmen calendar from this year. Anyway it's all good. There's all the usual characters in there: Buffy, Willow, Xander, Giles, Spike, Dawn, Anya Tara (looking practically unrecognisable). Oddly Cordelia, Angel and Oz all seem to be lacking pages in the calendar which I find odd. Maybe you don't Maybe you think 'well Cordelia and Angel are surely more suited to an Angel calendar seeing as they came to full fruition in the spinoff show of the same name, and Oz wasn't really in it for long enough to justify a full page in the calendar' and indeed you might be right if not for November 2011. Representing November 2011 is Riley! Remember Riley? That guy who Buffy went out with for a while who worked for 'The Initiative' and who nobody liked. Yeah that guy has his own calendar page. If this was twitter this is where I would say #calendarfail and then end the message because fuck this would be well too long for twitter, even with heavy editing I couldn't really get this down to 140 characters.

ixcaliber: Lineless art of Princess Jormungandr who is a white skinned woman in a dark red dress on a purple background, with blonde hair tied back in a ponytail, no face is depicted, she holds her left arm up as if touching something gently. (Jormungandr)
This is the cut text )

Clone 666 found himself drawn inexorably to the dark arts while in life. He dyed his hair an unusual colour and consorted with the spirits of the dead. When he met his unfortunate end he came up with an elaborate and quite frankly rubbish scheme to bring himself back to life. He breathed life into a formation of crystallised souls that would later be known as ‘Fool’s Paradiso’. The purpose of this creation was to lead unwary souls into his fake heaven trap whereupon he would feast upon their souls and get his life back. The key flaws in this plan was that Fool’s Paradiso was so intimidating that nobody would follow him, 666’s fake heaven was really unconvincing and even had he succeeded consuming the soul of another does not bring you back to life.

This artvent for some reason has taken me all day to draw and I have no idea why. Man I suck at time management. Anyway without further ado here is the first of the three artvent pictures (actually perhaps this is the reason it has taken me so long, I don't know).

In case you are wondering what is going on with the guard's head it's a helmet which has on it's front an image of Sister's face. She rules over the trapped population of her 'Paradise' through a mixture of physical force, constant brainwashing and a creepy kind of love and caring, claiming to be protecting her prisoners from the horrors of the outside world. All the guards wear Sister helmets... as do all the whores.

Todays picture is a snapshot from the same time period as the first. Some kind of apocalyptic scenario has turned the Principality of Jormungandr into a vast rolling desert. Jormungandr has found herself a new kingdom to rule; the liberated population of a floating city previously run by a perverted cult leader called Sister.

picture in here )

This one was tricky to draw in terms of how I was going to present the floating city in a way that was interesting to look at. Floating free it's just a big circle with a J on it and some exhaust pipes and stuff. I decided that while Sister would have been happy to float free; and thus keep the inhabitants captive to her whims, Jormungandr would have redocked it with it's original docking platform.

This picture is not an actual scene but more a sort of amalgamam of the entirity of The Great Unknowable Unknown; yet another spin-off of The Prinicpalities that I really should finish off at some point. The annoyed looking guy is Sue Sugarsnatch, who hates his name and his life. The green floaty Cortana lookalike is Ixcalibur, where I originally pinched the name from.

Well I certainly hope that my new feature is going to last a little bit longer than my reviewingess did. Every day I'm drawing a picture/composing a peice of music/writing a short peice of text (because hey writing is an art I'm pretty sure) for the purpose of... actually I'm not sure why I'm doing this. It's a december thing. They will all probably be set in The Principalities and the first one presents a bleak future for the Principality of Jormungandr.

the art itself is behind the cut and you can see it by clicking here, so do so, now! )
ixcaliber: Lineless art of Aph (a bright pink non-human with horns and long pale pink hair. Aph is carrying Sister Clara, a grey skinned woman with green eyes dressed in a nun's outfit, she has a holy book in front of her chest with her arms crossed over it. They are on a blue background with a single heart. (Aph and Clara)
Last one, or thereabouts )

And now I think I go to sleep or something.
